Game Bar doesn't record microphone unless I mute and unmute it again

    Hello,

Whenever I want to use the Game Bar to record the last 30 seconds of my games, the microphone icon appears unmuted, but actually is muted. I have to press mute and unmute to make it work again.
The microphone icon also automatically becomes "muted" when I start a recording, and I have to unmute it myself.
Once the microphone is "fixed" (after muting/unmuting), it will work until I switch to another window. If I switch back to the game, my microphone will be in the same state as when I started the game, and I will have to mute and unmute it to make it work in the recordings.

I checked in the Game Bar settings, my current microphone is selected, I can see it detecting sound, I tried updating my audio drivers, I removed the registry keys of the Game Bar, restarted my computer, nothing seems to have worked so far.

Does someone know what's going on and how to fix it ?

    Thank you

    :)

    Hello Draalok,

Thank you for your contribution to the Microsoft community.

We totally understand that you fix your issue with Xbox Game bar. Just a reminder, we are not able to double check your account and device here manually since we do not have the option to. No worries, we do have some troubleshooting steps here that we may try.

Before proceeding, I need to know more details so that we can get the best possible troubleshooting for you.

-May I know what was the last changes/updates you made on your end before the issue occurred?
    - Is everything completely working before?
-Are you getting any error message?

Basing on the statement you provided above, here are some troubleshooting steps that you may try:

    Repair the ieframe.dll file

    1. In the search bar, type Command Prompt > right-click > Run as administrator
    2. Type in the following commands. Ensure that you press Enter after entering each command:
      • sfc /scanfile=c:\windows\system32\ieframe.dll
      • sfc /verifyfile=c:\windows\system32\ieframe.dll

    mic and audio

If your mic has some sort of button to mute/unmute yourself try looking for that, however, if it doesn't then you should make sure you accidentally didn't put your Microphone to off/muted on the audio settings. If you have the microphone on and you still
can't speak then increase your mic sensitivity. Other then that good luck tryin to make your mic work again.
