Game Bar Does Not Record my voice during party chat

Hello, thanks for all the hard work on the new game bar and xbox app. Really enjoying the changes.

My issue is my voice is not recorded when making clips using game bar. I specifically play Halo 5 and voices of my friends in party chat are successfully recorded in the clip, but my own voice is not. I checked my microphone setting in the xbox companion
app and I only see two options for the microphone ports built into my actual PC. Is there not an option for using the headset connected to my xbox controller? Or, is there a setting to change the microphone to my xbox headset?

Thanks for coming to the forums with your question. With recording your voice it will not do this through the game bar itself. You either have to do it through the Xbox companion app or have a capture card. As this guide for

setting up streaming windows 10 shows it will only record from the Microphone on the PC not the headset.

Recorded audio

Record game play with or without sounds from your game and your microphone, and choose the audio quality.

To record game sounds with your game clips, turn on Record audio when I record a game.
To choose a different audio quality than the default, select the Audio quality box and choose one of the options.
To record through your microphone, turn on Record audio when I record a game.

you tried search for some fix update of your device?

I'm not sure I understand. Prior to posting on this forum, I did ensure all my drivers were updated through the Intel website. I also made sure all apps were updated through Microsoft Store. The only update I did not install is the latest Windows 10 Pro
cumulative update.

Unless you have an Elgato you can't record your voice. The console/app won't let you record yours or anyone else's. You can add your voice after the fact using upload studio.

Thanks Brad. I went to the Companion app and it redirects me to the Windows 10 settings that you outlined above. Based on this, looks like the microphone has to be connected to the PC to record my own voice. Is there a way I can request this as a feature?
