    Game and App Downloading.


    My Xbox will not continuously download any apps or games. The work around I have found is constantly restarting the console by shutting it down, until it completes its download; by switching back and forth between my two wireless routers until it completes; or by plugging and unplugging my Ethernet cable repeatedly until the download completes. I can run games online, and stream videos without interruption. My internet is working properly. I have factory reset the Xbox, as well moved all of the games to the external hard drive and the issue has still not resolved. I do not understand why it keeps just dropping like that. The network statistics say there is 0 packet loss on its test runs, 64ms latency. Please advise!

    I did notice the issue started when a Microsoft store update did not complete for several weeks; but the store was working properly. After which my console has gone through a couple of updates where the issue still arises and I am forced to manually plug and unplug the Ethernet cable.

    I recommend to report this problem using the Xbox Insider Hub app so we can investigate it further:



    • On your console, install the
      Xbox
      Insider Hub      app (if you don’t already have it).
    • Hold down the
      Xboxbutton on the controller.
    • On the power menu, select
      Report a problem.
    • Describe the problem in detail, including when it happened, if you saw any specific error codes or messages, and if you were using any specific games,
      software, hardware, or accessories when you encountered the problem.

    Thanks for reaching out! I'm sorry to hear about the issue with downloading any games and apps on your Xbox.

    Since it was mentioned that you've done a few troubleshooting steps. I would recommend to do a

    Soft Factory Reset.     This will reset your Xbox but keeping
    your games and apps.     Afterwards check to see if it resolved the downloading problem

    Side Note:
    It is very
    important to make sure you have a secure network connection and know the primary email/password to the account before resetting the Xbox.



    You can also report this problem using the Xbox Insider Hub app so we can investigate it further:

    Xbox Insider program    ? Be sure to let us know the results!
    Hi,

    I have an Xbox one x in the UK and I am enrolled in the insider program. It is happening with all apps and games. I purchased the games two days ago from the store.

    hi, have you tried to power cycle your xbox?
    Yes and checked my internet connection which is ok. Also checked xbox live and all is normal. However when I click on the failed download it tell there is a malfunction with xbox live.
