Game already bought wont play

Trying to help out a family member of mine. My Gramps is having an issue were when he loads call of duty it tells him he has to buy the game, when he goes to the store the store tells him he already owns the game. This repeats.

I am very sorry that your grandfather is having this problem, with the intention of helping you I did an internal search in the community forum and found several solutions that were published by various users here in the forum, so I am going to share with you some steps that pertain to them:

The first thing is that On your Xbox, you must go to Settings > Network Settings > Advanced > Alternate MAC Address > Delete. Your Xbox will have to restart, and you will have to reinstall your campaign and multiplayer data packs, if the problem persists, let's move on to the other steps.

User DavidPhan4 mentions that by selecting the Packages option you can install all the content and hopefully this will solve the problem, to do this follow these steps:

1. Go to your COD MWF icon and click on the option button.
2. There will be an option called "Manage Package".
3. Click on that, and it will allow you to install the game content.

As a last option and personal recommendation, you could tell your grandfather to restore the console, keeping the games and applications, this process will not delete any data from the console, it will only restore any corrupt files that are in the system, preventing its proper functioning (You just have to remember the credentials to log in again).

1. Press the Xbox button on your controller to open the guide.
2. Select Profile & system > Settings > System > Console information > Reset console.
3. Select Reset and keep my games and apps. This will reset the operating system and remove all potentially corrupted data without deleting your games or apps.

I agree with Grey Pilgrim but, Me and my dad bought a MW2 and it wont play it will say open trey. But then we got a MW3 edition xbox and we hooked it up and it will play. We bought 2 games Blackops and a MW2 and both wont play. But on anouther console we
ALREADY had will play them the MW3 edition do we need it repaired please help!!!!!

Hi, you don't have to be connected to Xbox live to play your games. Log in to the account that bought the content and do a license transfer, then re-download your games (this wont take long as they are already on the console), then disconnect your console
from Xbox live and play your games offline.

I have the same exact problem. I bought a hard drive just to play this game and i've downloaded it twice already and it still wont play. This is such a ripoff. Does this game work with a hard drive or not. Im tired of getting the run around and im tired
of xbox wasting my money and lying to me.

I have multiple games that wont play. Forza Motorsport and Black. I have Black physical and digital copies. Both copies wont work. Whenever i put in Forza, it say Play CDX. I bought my slim 4gig and bought a licensed 120gigHDD plus a 320gigHDD which also
licensed as well and still wont work.
