Future of game disscounts like Black Friday and game sales

With this month's release of Game Pass, my opinion is that game sales won't end, but it's going to be a little irrelevant

I think personally game pass /digital route is great for a consumer. Myself, very much like you liked having physical copies of a game and i don't think that will stop anytime soon.

In time, personally i think xbox will reach a point whereas games will only be purchasable in digital download format. This may be a blessing in disguise. Collectors/limited edition versions of games will physically always get a release (for the goodies
that are supplied at least).

With the saving in manufacturing normal games, essentially the limited/collectors versions will be of higher quality.

I wouldn't necessarily say that this is going to be bad for game developers. Physical releases are often time constrained by production/manufacturing. With a digital release, you can offer the base game / WIP (Such as game previews) to beta test new IP's
and get direct feedback from us, the gamers.

Who knows, we may have a rent-digital service for the next gen. We're kind of in a dark spot gaming wise now as we're prepping for the next gen.

I never made use of the Black Friday sale. I buy games usually on release date or preorder them if its a game I've looked forward to. With Gamepass, I have all the games I could ever want to play so I'm never really looking for a new game to purchase.
I have a good Xbox, custom controllers, good gaming headset and have never had any of these from a sale except the gamepass ultimate offer which was like £2 for 3 months and have had it since then. Sales never really entice me anymore as I've probably already
got the game thats on sale.

I didnt buy any games either as I have too large a backlog and the games on my wishlist didnt go on sale.

To be honest ive always had ? About black friday because if you choose your buying strategy wisely there are always deals which you can take advantage of with xbox game deals with gold just dont jump on new releases when they first come out i must have
a backlog of at least 50 games i havnt even started.
