    Frustrations with Discord Voice Chat Transfer


    For the last week I've been trying to get my discord voice chat to transfer over to my xbox and it never works. When I hit transfer to xbox in the discord app and get moved to the Xbox app it either takes me to a blank screen (an indication it doesn't even sense my xbox series x) or after I select my console, if it recognized it, says the transfer failed as a update is required. Unfortunately, there is nothing to update as my xbox says there are no pending updates when I check.

    Today I finally called xbox support and spent an hour with a gentleman trying to figure out what was going on. We kept unlinking and relinking my discord and xbox accounts and nothing worked. Better yet, now my discord app rarely recognizes my xbox console and I have to consistently scan the qr code to give it access again only for it to lose that access a short time later.

    I have already reported this issue to xbox, but just want this process to work.

    Is anyone else running into a issue like this or have a fix for it?? Thanks.

    When did this issue start to occur?
    Is this the first time you're trying to use Discord voice on Xbox console?
    Did you make sure that you transferred the voice correctly? Please note that switching between Discord voice channels on console is not supported. You'll need to retransfer audio from Discord again to switch to a new voice channel.

    Thank you for posting in Microsoft Xbox Community. I'm sorry to hear that you're having issues connecting to discord through your Xbox. For us to further isolate your issue, kindly share the exact error message that you received.

    If you're connected to a Discord voice channel on your Xbox console, your party chat status will say “Discord” and the name of the voice channel that you're in. If you want to join or start an Xbox party chat, disconnect from the Discord voice channel so that you can switch over to game or party chat.

    Troubleshooting with transfer discord voice chat to xbox serise x

    I appreciate you trying the steps, _MrBin_. As you know, once you've connected your accounts, you can use Discord voice chat on Xbox. Please also make sure that you are signed in to the Xbox app. If not, you won't be able to use Discord on Xbox.

    You can try to turn off your console by pressing the Xbox button on the front of the console for about 10 seconds, until it shuts down completely. Unplug the console's power cable. Wait 10 seconds and then plug the console power cable back in. Press the Xbox button on your console to turn it on.

    Then open the Discord app.

    Tap the voice chat channel you wish to connect to.

    Tap Try voice chat on console! at the bottom of your screen.

    Tap Join on Xbox.

    Do not tap Join Voice; this will connect to the call via your phone.

    Your Xbox app will now open; tap Transfer Voice to complete the process.
