Friends Minecraft account stolen

Hey, a friend of mine got his Minecraft account stolen. They somehow changed the email to which the Minecraft account was linked and changed the ign. He still has the original proof of purchase and purchase id. He is being blackmailed into paying 50 dollars and there is no guarantee of getting the account back. They are threatening to sell it if the money isn't received shortly. Is there any way to manually connect the account back to its original email considering that he still has the purchase id?

(Its originally a Mojang account for PC from 2015)

The minecraft account was migrated to a Microsoft account?

If yes, he can try recover the account following steps here:

My account in minecraft got stolen was migrated on this account they ve changed the email adress on my minecraft acount that was migrated on this **** **** platform.

Update, suddenly I realized the first time I bought this account was from my friend. He told me that this account is bought from a third party that was offering services to buy Minecraft accounts purely from the official website in exchange for Rupiah after further research it turns out that the account belonged to somebody and that somebody after 6 years could finally take over his account that was stolen by the third party. I'm feeling scammed but also glad for that person whose account got stolen 6 years ago. Hopefully, everybody could take some lessons from what I've experienced on buying a Minecraft account!
