    Friends and other players cannot see messages in Minecraft Bedrock Realms or supported servers


    Hello! I've recently migrated to this account intending to use a Minecraft realm free trial subscription that I haven't used up until now. However, upon logging in and playing around with some friends on realms and servers, it seems as though I cannot see other players' chat messages, and they cannot see mine. I have gone through constant digging the past few days, to no avail, checking if my chat was muted and even going as far as changing my privacy settings. I have seen other forums with similar issues, so I tried all of the following, for ease of description:
    - Unmuting chat (Was already unmuted)
    - Changing privacy settings (Messages to online players and club access, were already on, nothing changed when I turned them off and on again)
    - Restarting PC
    - Signing in and out

    My guess is that this might have something to do with me not being on this account in a while, so any information on that and hopefully any way to fix this issue would be much appreciated. Thank you.

    It seems that your unable to see other players chat messages nor they can see your chats. We recommend consulting this directly to Minecraft support forum as this is more in-game related issue already.

    I can't log into a multiplayer server using MS account

    It seems to me that possibly the problem is more focused on the compatibility of the server with the edition of Minecraft you use. Minecraft Java Edition servers do not accept Minecraft Bedrock players, or vice versa. It is the same thing that happens with Minecraft Realms, for example. There are separate Realms for each edition of the game for the simple fact that both editions are different and not compatible with each other.

    Minecraft for Windows, as it is, cannot be used on Xbox consoles. However, Minecraft for Windows is essentially Minecraft Bedrock Edition, which is the same edition used on Xbox consoles. That's why, for example, the Realms in Minecraft for Windows are the same as Minecraft Bedrock for Xbox consoles. In contrast, Minecraft Java Edition Realms are exclusive to PC and only accept Java Edition players.

    This is why most servers, even if they are third-party, have the same player compatibility system. It's highly likely that the server you're trying to access is intended for the Java version of Minecraft. That's why it doesn't allow you to log in from the Minecraft for Windows (Bedrock) edition, while it does allow access from the Java edition of the game.

    It's essential to clarify that "Minecraft for Windows" refers to Minecraft Bedrock, but that's how Mojang decided to name it on the PC platform, which can lead to confusion.
