Friend's account is apparently locked

One of my friends cannot sign into her account due to it being locked. She's not confident in her English so I'm posting here instead.

We've tried filling out the account recovery form twice, she forgot a purchase the first time which we thought was the issue, but including it didn't work and she was locked out from making more requests for 24 hours. She does not use the account for email as far as I know, only for gaming, so there wouldn't be any emails in the inbox to remember. I tried to find a way for her to contact a human online, but the support site was absolutely useless in any language either of us speak.

Are there any more resources I can forward?

I'm sorry your friend is experiencing this with her Microsoft account. No worries, let me help you sort this out.

It's important to note that this is a public user-to-user community forum, and none of us here work for Microsoft.

Unfortunately, the account recovery web form is the only option to recover a Microsoft account. If she is restricted from submitting more requests, she can try to submit another one after 24 hours:

Note: Try to have her fill out the form on where she frequently uses or usually signs in to her account.

If you feel the need to reach out to Microsoft Xbox Support, here's how to do it:

Chat Support:

> Visit the Xbox Support website: https://support.xbox.com/en-US/contact-us/
> Click on the "Contact Us" button in the right of the screen.
> Select the issue you need help with and click on the "Next" option.
> Sign in to your Microsoft account.
> Follow the prompts to connect to a live chat agent.

For Callback Support:

> Select Xbox One
> Select See more options then subscription changes
> Select Show Contact options
> Select Request a call from support

Once they call explain the issue and they will be able to help you. Note that these options regularly change so just keep selecting something that gives a request for a call from support as a contact option.

OK, so apparently that is just for a password reset, I don't need a password reset. My account is locked, and I can't get in even with the correct password.

There seems to be an issue with new accounts adding friends at the moment which is being looked into apparently.

Gifted codes are region locked. So your account region and physical location would have to match that of your friends. There's no way around region locking.

Your friend can contact support to try to get a refund.

December 29th account stolen,WLID and password changed

December 29th reported it to microsoft,account was locked,

December 31st my "locked" Gt sends my new account a friend request

January 8th still no answers
