friend passed but account still active

i know this is a little morbid but my friend died several months ago but his xbox profile is still active and it is just getting really creepy when xbox generates bots with his profile and characteristics. he was a fun gamer but i think even he would be appalled at his profile lingering so long after his death. i keep trying to get in contact with a agent (or any human) to rectify this but i just keep getting errors and dead ends (no pun) can anyone help sort this out?

My condolences on the passing of your friend.

Regarding, closing the account, I imagine that it would require that person's next of kin to do it as they may need to provide proof of the death to MS so they close it.

Hi, I never activated any Game Pass code on Xbox before, the codes are just not working, no one can activate them, neither my friends. I gave the codes to some of my friends but it still doesn't work

Does your friend's account still have an active subscription or is it still home on your console?

You can still share your account with ONE friend. See if your friend's signature is still active, or see if he has made any changes to his xbox live account.
