    Friend can't connect to Xbox parties on Xbox Game Bar


    When my friend attempts to join a party it appears like everyone else regardless of platform is disconnected and he's just connecting and the error message he receives is "Something went wrong with this xbox party try again later" or something along those lines, this has been a constant issue for several months ever since he got his pc. He's tried to resolve this by hard resetting his router, repairing the app through windows etc. It doesn't matter whether he's in a game or not.

    I believe they're remove Party from the companion app and moving it to the Xbox Game Bar (Win+G). Once you open Game Bar be sure to check if the option to receive Xbox One party/game invites is turned on.

    To start a party on Game Bar, you'll have to create a new message and add friends in it and click on the Headset icon on the top right.

    Ugh! There's still a bug that keeps me from joining partys'. I tried joining my friends party but it kept on saying can't connect to xbox live party, same for my friends, they can't join my party's unless they reset their (turn off/turn back on) xbox.

    Hi,

    The Companion App isn't the best tool to use to join or make parties with other PC and Xbox users now.

    You should try using Game Bar instead. Just press the Windows key and tap G to access the Game Bar.
