    Freezing / lag on Dashboard - could the insider program be worth trying or not?


    So I don’t know if this is the right place to post but my Xbox series s freezes and lags every few seconds on the dashboard. When I eventually load into a game it runs fine. If I go back to the dashboard it freezes. Once I’ve exited out of a game I then can’t load back in to any game, it freezes and restarts the console on its own.

    I’ve googled and tried different solutions, factory reset, clearing alternative MAC address, resetting with out completely wiping it, completely shutting it off and unplugging it, changing the resolution.

    I am not part of the insider program. But would it be worth trying it? Seeing if any updates sort this out! I’m completely new to the insider program so wouldn’t know where to start.

    Any help would be appreciated

    Are you in the Xbox Insiders program? Maybe a soft factory reset could help, could be worth trying.

    Are you part of the Xbox Insiders program? If so, it might be worth trying to remove your console from the Xbox Insider program so you can revert to a more stable version of the Xbox One dashboard.

    If it's not an OS issue, and it's a hardware issue, then check to see if your console is still under warranty with either Microsoft or the store where you purchased the console from. If it's still under warranty, then hopefully they can get it repaired or
    replaced for you.

    The change in the dashboard is done by system updates. The dashboard is constantly changing and being updated. So all you could do for the future is to join the Insiders program and give your feedback during the testing
    phase. But even then there could be changes which you won´t like..

    There are lag, stop/start, freeze issues when playing an installed version of the game. You could try uninstalling and playing from the disc?

    This just freezes for a second or so though, not a full Xbox freeze.
