Free Update for Age of Empires Definitive Edition

The Xbox version is out on the 31st, I would assume it would coincide

With regards to your concern, are you somehow playing the game on a Windows 10/11 device? Or via Xbox console?

Based on the game developer's page, you should be able to update the game via the Microsoft store. Though some developer releases the update by batches and not in one go, so the update might be available for others and you might notice it is not yet available to you.
