    Free Movie Weekend RIPOFF, no rental option only purchase


    It clearly states on the Xbox 360 home page that the movie Knights of Badassdom is free for the weekend, there is a preview and small box that says 'watch for free' when you click on the box it asks you to confirm your purchase!

    There is no rental option, checking the other movies in Xbox Video there are rental options, however not for the free film. We're on west coast and its 930pm when we started trying to watch this film for free, after reseting our system cache and doing every
    other thing we could think of we could not figure out how to rent the film for free. Its now 11pm, it still states the movie is free to rent?

    This really looks like a misdirection to get folks to purchase the video. This is not the first time Xbox has said something was free and it wasn't, I do not trust Xbox or Microsoft. If the promo ended earlier then it should not still be advertised, because
    this frustration means you just lost a customer - I WILL NEVER RENT A VIDEO FROM XBOX.

    Never played any of the Diablo games

    Got it from Redbox just because it offered me a free game rental when I rented a movie had no interest in the game, after only having about an hour to play it I'm hooked and plan on buying it this weekend! Hoping to rekindle some Gauntlet Legend memories!

    I see there is a free rental for xbox live members offer ends june 30 2013 ...I click the add that goes to the free rental and click it again and it just takes me to to xbox movie purchase or rental screen with the regular rental microsoft points.... there
    is no free rental for me ...Am i doing it wrong or is the promo over i wanted to watch it tonight.....Please help

    All offers are called purchases regardless of whether they are free or not. It gets recorded on your purchase history. Did you check to see if the amount was 0.00 or just see the "purchase" word and figured that there was a cost.

    I too had this happen around the same time and put in a call to customer service. They informed me the promo was running on GMT and had ended 6 hours ago.

    I hope Microsoft realizes all the bad word of mouth they're getting from this stuff.

    1 month trial asking me to purchase tv show

    With the Gold trial, only the access to Live features is free.

    That means you can play multiplayer games online, watch Netflix and so on.

    TV shows and movies are still a paid-for service, which are separate.

    However, there is one film that is a free rental this weekend. There should be information about it on the Dashbaord.

    Not all movies are available for rental. Sometimes Microsoft only gets the option to sell the movie.
