Free Month of GamePass With XBox One X

I just bought an XBox One X on release day and it included a free month of Game Pass. The code would not work for a few days and I contacted support and they told me it was a common issue that would be fixed by the 10th. So I try to input the code now and
it tells me its for new customers only. I had done a 2 week trial awhile back, but nowhere on the code included with my X does it say I couldn't use it if I had done a free trial previously. This is extremely shady. If Microsoft didn't want people to use it
if they did a trial in the past then it should be stated. Not good for people who just spent $500 on a new system.

Included code expired

I purchased Xbox one X console yesterday. A redeem code coupon for 1 month free gamepass was included. I tried to redeem, but the code was expired. I want you to provide new gamepass code. My console SN is 101250174517. And the included code is X4JCY-GQ3R3-PYY6F-P2TVH-D3JQZ.

September 2018 GamePass Free Forza 7 offer

I know that there's a related question on the forums about this, but my question is slightly different. I purchased the special XBox One X/GamePass/Gold bundle earlier this month. Am I also entitled to get and redeem the Forza 7 free game?

There are several reasons why a code wont work.

It could be a past due of some sort.

I hope support checked if there is an unpaid balance for a renewal on your account.

 

Past due? No. read what I wrote. I know why it wasn't accepted, its for new members only. I had previously done a free 2 week trial. However nowhere on the card including with the X does it indicate it was just a free trial. Its for a free month and nothing
more. Its very deceptive. I'm not arguing with Microsoft over it anymore. I have an account I simply use for 2 players and I applied it to that to get my free month.

As I said, it COULD BE. It is a possibility. I am not pinpointing that is the reason.

Our family got an Xbox One X and I saw the prepaid codes included in the package.

My brother was able to use the code on his account (not new, been an Xbox member for quite some time).

I am aware it is not a trial since it is a 1-month Game Pass Subscription.

The other one is a 14-day Gold trial, it works fine as well.

Game Pass codes that came with the console should not give you an error like that.

Seems the issue you got is an unreported case, you may have to check further with chat or the phone if you prefer calling.

Did you try redeeming the code on another account? If it gets applied to that other account, might as well use the My Home Xbox feature. If you really want it to be on your account, feel free to contact support again.

Well Microsoft needs to word things better in the future. Nowhere does it indicate it is for new users nor does it say its a trial. Its simply a free month. If you know anything about the program, you can only sign up for a month at a time.
