Free Gamertag Change because 10 € /$ are to expensive for a Nickname that is free on Steam...

It is good to know. But this does not change the fact that the prompt with the warning text was misleading because it stated false information.

It stated that if I change my gamertag to "nick name" the old one "nickname" will be free to choose.

I think this issue should be fixed because gamertag change could cost money.

I am a little bit happy that it was my free change otherwise I would be extremely disappointed and ask for a refund or the help of my bank.

There is no way to completely delete an Xbox account and its gamertag/nickname. Even deleting your Microsoft account will not free up the gamertag.

To free up the gamertag (or nickname), you would need to change it to something else. Then the original gamertag would be available to be used on another account.

The only way to change your gamertag once for free is if you accepted the system assigned gamertag when you signed up your account,, If you made your own gamertag then there is no free first change.

I do agree that the actual cost of a gamertag is expensive though, But i don't see that cost ever changing.
