    in order to download Games with Gold for free, you will need a paid Xbox Live Gold subscription, any free trials will not count as Gold to allow purchasing those Games with Gold games for free

    First did you buy it with a creditcard on the console or did you purchase it with a prepaid code

    If you purchased it with a prepaid code you are ineligible as it requires you to buy the subscription

    The prepaid code counts as a previous purchase and a post prepaid subscription not a renewable one

    If you did use a creditcard and bought it on the console them you need to wait the 6-8weekd after the promotions end for the code to be sent to yoh

    try purchasing the free games through the store on your computer, once "purchased" they should automatically download to your console when it is connected to xbox live.
