Free game suddenly costs money

I definitely understand where you're coming from, although, these games were removed from game pass library if then, you would need to purchase them if they have been removed if you wanted to continue playing again.

the game is now a free to play title, this means the core game is free, and additional courses and players cost money.

Free streaming but downloading music costs money

Microsoft might make some extra money at first but in the long run no. Plus a bunch of people that have been paying for xbox live gold would probably get ticked off about it suddenly being free. Plus it's worth the extra money for the extra security and
features that come with the xbox. If they made online free the xbox would probably turn into a giant money pit because of the extra features it has like the call of duty maps coming out a week early I'm sure costs ms some money to make happen. It wouldn't
be worth it for the company in the long run.

The IF doesn't devalue the thing that is free. You can't arbitrarily apply a cost to something that is free based on the randomness of your thought processes...

Games with Gold are free.

The first two pair of shoes have a cost...

... the free pair does not. They have the same value as the pairs you paid for... but they didn't cost you anything.

You can't say, "Well it cost money to drive to the store to get the shoes, so I should apply petrol costs to the free pair of shoes. Then I had to eat that snack because I was a bit hungry, there's more money... man those shoes turned out to be expensive...
