FREE Downloaded 'Tomb Raiders' Needs LIVE Logon To Run?

Is there a procedure which allows me to run the FREE 'Tomb Raiders' with 360 E purchase that is downloaded to my 360 E hard drive WITHOUT HAVING TO SIGN-IN TO XBOX LIVE? I only signed up for the 1 year LIVE to get all of the console and purchased game
disks updates and possible purchased DLC for these games. After the year was up, I planned to cancel LIVE as I am fully covered on the Internet Apps. with my LED/LCD/Smart 3D TV and Sony Blu-Ray Player, and on-line gaming or the other functions offered are
of no interest to me. So, bottom line, if any downloaded game REQUIRES an active LIVE subscription to play, I will only buy games in the disk format as I can not condone paying $60 a year to play game content that I purchased.

How do you get Tomb Raider for free using a code?

I'm wondering how I could get a code for Tomb Raiders so I can download it on XBOX Live.

I really like Powerstar golf. Don't get Halo or Brothers they will be free next month. Trials is fun. The Tomb Raiders is a blast. Have fun.

 

You would only need the gold subscription if you plan on playing online multiplayer. Otherwise you don't need a gold subscription in order to play the game.

 

MY Xbox 360E FORCES me to logon to my Gold LIVE account BEFORE it loads my game from the hard drive to play. I want to know HOW to bypass this forced requirement if there is one.

?...switched consoles....? The ONLY game console that I own is the single 360 E that the FREE 'Tomb Raider' was downloaded into. When I go to MY Games and select 'Tomb Raider', I get the game "Start" screen. When I select 'Start', it goes to the LIVE
logon page. Using any button (i.e. red/B or </Back) gets me back to the "Start" screen. I have not found a way to play this downloaded game WITHOUT logon to LIVE!

 

You're mistaken, the console is forcing you to log-in to a Microsoft account because that's how the game knows where to save data. If you have no interest in the premium tier abilities (apps, multiplayer, sales, Games with Gold, etc) then it does not need
to be a Gold level account. All system and title updates, along with demos and the ability to make marketplace transactions, are available to Silver--nee free--level accounts.

 

"...that's how the game knows where to save data..." What's wrong with saving game data ON MY COMPUTER HARD DRIVE like my original Xbox did for single player? LIVE doesn't need to save game data in a single player game - only if I CHOSE to play multi-player

Sigh... "nee" not "near." Nee is an adjective meaning "originally called." Free accounts have been labeled "Silver" these days. You don't even need a silver account, you just need an account period--they allow completely offline accounts--so that the
game knows what partition to save the game data to so that each user who plays the game can have their own individual save files. The only reason you needed an Xbox LIVE account--Silver or Gold--in the first place was to download the game.

As far as "What's wrong with saving game data ON MY COMPUTER HARD DRIVE" (sic) goes it does save it to the console's HDD (if equipped). Even your PC has specific users doesn't it? Each user has their own "My Documents" section do they not? The 360 functions
identically. It partitions individual data to individual accounts.

As far as physical discs go it is a good idea to have at least a Silver level account so that you can automatically download title updates from the Xbox LIVE servers though most games are released in a playable state without patches being required.

 

Thank you for the clarification. I have spent many hours on the Xbox site - both 360 and LIVE related - and found NOTHING about this. Nothing about the difference between Silver and Gold, and how to set up a Silver account. Since my Gold account is less
than a month old, I would like to find out how to cancel my Gold account and set up a Silver account. Can you suggest a site page that will allow me to do this? Thank you in advance for any help with this.

 

You would have to contact support about cancelling gold. Once it's cancelled you'll be silver. 1-800-4my-xbox if you're in the US/Canada or
