Free Digital Upgrade

Bungie released a statement that they will allow people who purchase Destiny digitally on the 360 to upgrade their purchase to the Xbox One for free while keeping the license for the 360 version. From the webpage, it includes the Extension Pass as well.
I am curious if this will make some forgo the pre-order bonuses (Vanguard Items) on the One to have a copy for the 360 too.

Purchased Content Transfer Between Consoles

Not all games are available for redownload to the Xbox One console.

Currently there are only a few items that offer deals for this.

Xbox One to Xbox 360

Hi there,

as far as I know the addons are only upgradable, so when bought on the 360 they will be available on the One, but it won't work the other way around. The following links only show upgrade:

I am so angry about this, I am probably going to toss my xbox out in the dumpster and get a PS4. I am now to be punished for buying a xbox one and pre-ordering the digital guardian edition for it instead of my 360?!? Why can't I get the 360 version for
free just like they are getting the version I PAID for free, this is stupid. First the BS of giving crap games for the "games with gold" program, getting really fed up with getting the shaft for supporting this damn company.

 

I don't see why the free upgrade can't go both ways? I have friends that don't have an Xbox one yet. I wish I could preorder Xbox one digital and get the 360 version when my friend picks up the game.

 

MaGee911, Sony is doing the exact same thing. You only get the digital PS4 version if you purchase the PS3 digital version. The only difference is that Sony is selling digital pre-orders for the PS3. That makes sense though, since Bungie seems to have sided-up
more with Sony on this title.

Personally I reserved the Limited Edition on the Xbox One. I would have happily switched that out for the Digital Guardian version of the 360 if MS was offering it with the pre-order bonuses and there was a bit more info on when it would actually be hitting
the marketplace. That way I would have all the content (including the Vanguard pre-order bonuses) and could enjoy the game with my friends on the 360 and the One.
