    I just got an Xbox One last night for Christmas, and I have Call of Duty Advanced Warfare purchased for Xbox 360. I signed into the same microsoft account on my Xbox One that I used to purchase AW. I thought that if you purchase CODAW on older gen consoles
    then you could get a free digital copy? So how come it says purchase CODAW in the Xbox Store on my Xbox One?

    If you purchased a digital copy of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare for Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3, you can upgrade your game for free within your console family. This offer is valid until March 31, 2105.

    Please note: Free digital upgrades are available November 4 in your region.

    Follow the steps below to upgrade your digital copy of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare:

    PlayStation 3 → PlayStation 4

    Log into your PlayStation 4 using the same SEN account (PSN ID) used to buy/redeem the Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Digital Base Game or Season Pass on PlayStation 3.

    Navigate to the digital content’s location in the PlayStation Store.

    Add the item to your download queue and wait for the download to complete.

    Xbox 360 → Xbox One

    Log into your Xbox One using the same Microsoft Account (Xbox Live Account) used to buy/redeem the Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Digital Base Game or Season Pass on Xbox 360.

    Navigate to the digital content’s location in the Xbox Store.

    The free update works if you bought a digital 360 copy of Advance Warfare and are transferring to the XB1 - NOT the other way around. Also,

    Have you tried setting your Xbox as 'Home Xbox' on that account you bought the game on 360?

    By the way, I've read some articles on the Activision support, that the game version does kind of interfere in that... (Atlas pro, Day Zero, Standard). Basically, you have to search for the exact edition you bought on Xbox 360.

    I own two hard copies os Advanced Warfare and see on the Activision sit saying that when you buy A Digital edition of Advanced warfare that you get free upgrades of season pass, digitalBase game and Additional Digital content. I got to "purchase button"
    but hesitated when there was no reference to free upgrades. How do you insure that free upgrade will be forthcoming?
