    Frame drops and lag


    Hi all, was wondering I'f someone can help with a technical question. So far I have noticed this on 2 games F1 2022 and now F1 2023. What is happening sometimes at the beginning of a race (not during) the frames and performance of my xbox just slows right down. When this happens if I back out on to the menu and launch a new game on fifa or something else the problem will still be there. The issue only resolves itself when I shut down and re boot the console. The question is is this a hardware issue or a bug in these 2 games causing this?

    It may be possible due to the hardware or overheating issue.

    Please place your console in a well-ventilated space.

    Then try performing a hard reset EXACTLY like this.

    Hold the power button on the console for 8 seconds or until the power shuts down completely. Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes. Plug the power cord back in and restart the console.

    Cables won't cause a frame rate drop, they would cause lag. So if you are specifically noticing a frame rate drop when playing single player then it's probably the game just can't handle that much going on. Before thinking it's caused by something being
    wrong with your Xbox, can you try recreating the frame rate drop on a friends Xbox?

    There seems to a lot of confusion regarding this topic.

    For whatever reason, today's gamers are unable to comprehend the difference between frame rate drop and server lag. What is thought to be frame rate drop is in fact server lag. The exact same thing happened for the first couple of weeks for Battlefield 3.

    The same thing also happened for Halo 4 the first couple of weeks.

    BF3 played fine on MY 360, no lag (frame rate drops) at all really. I know the Next Gen will be much better.

    The eye cant tell the difference between the frame rates, WITHOUT drops, thats when the problems (lag, jerking) occur. Basically its going to effect the smoothness of the game, and NOT the actual "look" of the game, especially the higher frame rates. The
    eyes dont see frame rates anyways. :p
