It is a licence validation thing. For the digital copy they can control how it is used and ensure only the account that purchased it will be using it, with disc, they can't do that really.

The benefit of disc: portability, usually cheaper

The benefit of digital: play anywhere

It is a choice which you go for, sorry you can't play on PC this time around.

It looks like you were maybe game sharing through the Xbox One, if this is the case then the game would not show up there. You can always take a look at your "My
Games" list online or of course your
Order History to make sure that you have purchased the game. If you do not see it on any of these lists then you more than likely do not own the game.

If you do see the game then I would advise that you

All my purchases don't show in my history for some reason but I bought the game on a disc. Is that the problem?
