Forza Horizon crashes during opening clip after I press Start but only on my account

Hi,

I am having a problem playing my copy of Forza horizon 4.

I have own the game for about a week now and have had issues with it since the beginning.

I was playing online no problem 2 days ago when I hit a solid tree in game causing my car to crash but as soon as this happened my screen went blue like my car had glitched through the map and was infinitely spinning (still have HUD and mini map displayed
and game moices were normal, just my field of view distorted. I had to manually close the game then tried to restart.

know when ever I get to the Press Start screen during the opening intro clip my game crashes.

I have tried all sorts of things and then decided to do a complete new re install of windows 10 last night wiping my hard drive clean.

I installed Windows and used windows update which then installed all updates and is now up to date.

I then installed latest Video card drivers (GTX 1080)

went to Microsoft store and installed my standard edition of horizon 4.

Launched and have the exact same problem crashing when I press start.

My brother has the same Pc rig as me with the same version of horizon on his Microsoft account so I asked him for his login details.

I logged into his account, launched the game and after it synced his game data across The Game Worked! I pressed start and the Continue button appeared and I could play on his account.

So I then exited and logged into my account and what do you know, after syncing my game settings it once again no longer worked with the game crashing after I tried to press start.

My only thought is that somehow my sync data or my Microsoft account was corrupted some how when my game bugged and crashed the initial time.

Just seeing if others have encountered this problem or is anyone has any suggestions?

So I went over the possible solutions you posted and it came down to what I mentioned before, the error is to do with my profile data.

This was solution 6 in the linking article that you posted stating:

Solution 6: Sign in as a different user Sometimes the performance and stability of gameplay can be affected by corrupted profile data on your Windows 10 device. To check your profile data, try playing
the same game using a different account. Here's how:

Press the Windows button on your device or keyboard, or select the
Windows icon from the bottom-left corner of the main screen.
Select your account name from the top-left corner of the menu, and then select
Switch account.
Sign in with an account other than the one you were using.
Restart the game to see if it works correctly.

If this is indeed the problem then how can I Reset my profile data?

OK so the problem I was having was definitely my Save Data.

I found a solution to my issue but it required:

1. Deleting my save data (so yes I then had to restart the game from the beginning)

2. Using an Xbox one to login to my profile and delete the save data. (to my knowledge there is no way to do this currently without the use of an Xbox one. Luckily my brother owns one and I could ask him
to do it for me.

(Interestingly the game experienced the exact same crash while trying to launch it from the console validating the corrupt save data)

The steps were

You can clear the save data as long as you are on the Xbox console. (you may need the game installed on the xbox first)

Go to My games and apps
Highlight Forza Horizon 4
Hit the menu or start button
Go to manage game
Go down to the save for your profile name and hit A
you will see two options to delete off console or delete everywhere, select delete everywhere it deletes from console and the cloud storage.
Power Cycle the console.
Once console back on try the game it should start over completely.

I logged into my PC account straight away after doing this and it worked first try but now I have to reset the game from the beggining.

Hope this may help some of you at least get back to playing the game.
