    Forza Horizon Crash on latest drivers for Nvidia GPU


    I have a 3080Ti, less than a year old. I ALSO have a laptop running a 1660Ti, the laptop has less than 100 hours of total use EVER. Both experience the same exact issue of crashing after about 15 minutes. No consistency. In a race, outside a race, free roam, in garage, in settings. Doesn't matter where or when, it can, will, and does crash. The ONLY fix for this is to go to Nvidia GPU driver version 522.25. That's it. And this wouldn't have been a problem except another game I started playing recently crashes my entire computer (black screen, repeating audio, gpu fans on max) without the newer version of the driver. You guys are one of the largest corporations on the planet, for the love of the sanity of all gamers, fix this.

    For diagnostic purposes, I am a professional SysAdmin and have a lot of experience with software and hardware issues ranging from games to Sage100 to custom DOS programs. I have looked at event viewer, I have looked at DxDiag, I have checked BIOS and all versions of everything. I have verified windows installations and made sure to install all windows updates as soon as they are available through windows update. The issue and solution is without a doubt the graphics drivers conflicting with SOMETHING in your game. Don't know what more to say.

    There are a number of things that can cause crashes in Forza Horizon 4. It could be another program running or even just needing to update your GPU driver. Here is a link to a thread with some known issues and possible solutions to try. I would make sure
    your GPU driver is up to date first.

    Don't worry mate.

    You have to update the GPU drivers to run correctly the game:

    Nvidia: Nvidia GPU drivers Radeon: Ryzen GPU drivers

    If it worked, no problem !! :)

    when you say you have some driver updates, did you download the gpu driver direct from nvidia.

    i would download the latest chipset drivers from amd direct and gpu driver from nvidia direct, then once installed make sure all windows updates are completed, you should be able to run that game at high to ultra as i do too.

    That is indeed rather odd. Your system is more than capable of running this game at 1080P with high settings and a solid 60 FPS.

    Have you installed the latest NVidia driver for your 1070? The minimum driver to use is 399.24. However, NVIDIA did release a Game Ready driver 411.63 and the most recent driver being 411.70.
