Forza Horizon 5 something went wrong with the game save (steam)

So I just bought the disc version of Forza Horizon 5 and everytime I try to launch the game it says “something went wrong” and displays the error code 0x87e50031. Please help me.

I can’t play some of my games

Forza Horizon 5 does NOT have any announced or planned cross-progression from Forza Horizon 4. Aside from Forza Horizon 1 (which did had loyalty rewards for Forza Motorsport titles), there has never been cross-progression for Forza Horizon titles. You always had to start fresh with each game.

And about Forza Horizon 4: the lack of possibility to use the same save between Steam and Microsoft Store comes from the technical point of the each game. Both use a wholly different methods of saving which is far too much work to make them co-operate, ESPECIALLY considering that Forza Horizon 4 is way past its' prime.

I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with Forza Horizon 5 on your Steam Deck. Based on the information you've provided, it seems that the issue may be related to your account or saved data.



To troubleshoot this issue, I recommend trying the following steps:



1. Clear the cache on your Steam Deck by restarting it and then launching the game again.

3. Try signing out of your Xbox account on the game's start menu, then signing back in again.



4. If the issue persists, try deleting your saved data for Forza Horizon 5. You can do this by going to "Settings" on your Steam Deck, selecting "Storage," then "Manage Storage," and finally "Forza Horizon 5." From there, you can delete your saved data.

You can't as you did everything on steam

For the most part, cross-save support is present in Forza Horizon 5. The only exception to this rule is for those PC players who are playing through Steam. Steam players do not have cross-save support on their version of the game.Nov 8, 2021
