    forza horizon 5 game took space in my disk but not showing up anywhere


    i started the installation of forza and after about 30gb of installing the game i restarted my laptop. then when the laptop started my disk space was taken and the game is nowhere to be seen.

    Hi, i tried following your steps, i cannot download it from the windows store or xbox app because it is still taking up the space that was allocated for the previous download. I was downloading Forza Horizon 5 however i had to pause it. I searched if it was safe to pause the download and close the xbox app which is what i chose to do and i shut down my pc. However when i came back onto the app, the download was not appearing and it has been taking up over 100gb of space which was meant for the game. Please help

    First, welcome to the Xbox community. Given the problem you are having, I suggest you try the procedure below.

    (Some users have reported that this allows downloading the game)

    1. Go into the Microsoft Store and search Forza Horizon 5 Standard Edition.

    2. Next you want to click on Forza Horizon 5 Standard Edition and you want to click Install from the Xbox app.

    3. This will take you to the Xbox app and when it takes you to the Forza game scroll down and look at the tab named "Included in this bundle" And click Forza Horizon 5.

    4. This should take you to the regular Forza Horizon 5 game rather than the Standard Edition, And then you want to click install and this should download the game.

    - If that works, the download will probably pick up where it left off.

    Forza Horizon 5 - Install Issues/Hard Drive Issues

    I have reinstalled the xbox game pass app.

    It is still showing Forza Horizon 5 as uninstalled.

    When attempting to install, it shows 110gb of storage space free (I know that this should be closer to 220-230gb)- suggesting that the failed install from last night is still hogging drive space.

    If I try to install Forza Horizon 5 again, it lingers on "preparing install" before failing without any error messages

    It seems like there is some corrupt data somewhere that I need to clear both to free up space and allow me to reinstall the game.
