Forza Horizon 5 game save not syncing between PC and Xbox

Hi there,

I'm guessing this it the first time you're playing Forza Horizon 4 on PC,

If you've lost your game data for Forza Horizon 4 on PC, having closed the game before allowing it to sync up, ( which it can take some time to do so ),

To make sure you've not completely lost your save data, I would load Forza Horizon 4 on you're Xbox console and see if your save data is ok on the Xbox, if it is ok,

I would then uninstall Forza Horizon 4 from you're PC, then reinstall it and allow it to fully sync up, which may take so time to do so , to see if it works / fixes the issue.

I'm not sure about the Windows 10 update, as I've not had to do any update's to Windows for Forza over the years of going back and fourth playing Forza Horizon 4 between Xbox and PC and having to sync every time i do so.

Depends on the game, if hte game is cross-play the save files are transferred between PC and Xbox. Game that allow Cros-play for example are: Halo MCC, Forza Horizon 4 and Gears of War 5

It’s a slightly different question for another game, but the same steps still apply. If you access and play FH5 offline, select the cloud save when prompted to resync your game data/progress to your Xbox. If this fails or you’re unable to try this, then delete the game save data only for your console (not everywhere) on your account/profile.

You may need to restart your console for the changes to properly take effect with this reflected in-game. Be sure to wait at least 10-15 seconds before reconnecting the power to completely reset the power supply.

OK that was a bit of a fiddle but I now have open NAT on PC:





And on the laptop:





I have also completely wiped the PC and re-installed Windows 11. So now to test to see if it picks up my latest save...

So I have loaded the game on the laptop, driven around a bit and bought a new car, then quit to desktop. Now to wait 20 minutes to see if the PC has picked up the save...

20 minutes later...

Launching game on PC - remember, this PC has never launched Forza Horizon 5 because this is a completely fresh install (not an upgrade, I formatted the drive and installed Windows 11 from scratch, so there is no local save on this machine right now), so let's see what happens...

OK it's syncing data with the cloud:





Looking promising on the load screen:





YES! It has picked up the latest save from the laptop! This is the car that I bought before quitting to desktop on the laptop earlier.





So, we are now in sync! Let's see if it stays that way! More testing to go, but thank you for your help!
