Forza Horizon 5 download stuck, 100GB taken off my HDD

I have game pass on PC, I tried installing Forza Horizon 5 and everything was going well, up until I needed to restart my computer, the download progress was lost, I tried to resume it, but nothing worked, I was kinda disappointed, but whatever, but I had one question "what happened to the downloaded files?" right? so I tried to install it from scratch, but it seemingly already took 100GB off my hard drive, and I swear I spent hours looking online for solutions, and nothing, a friend of mine said he had this problem already and suggested downloading something else, and I did, and surprise, it worked! the download was resumed, and then I needed to restart my computer again, and it happened once more, the "download something else" fix doesn't work anymore and I now am stuck with less space on my storage.

Problem is, I can't access the files to delete them myself because they are strangely encrypted, I need permission in my own computer to access my own files! so I can't delete them either, what do I do?

Honestly I have had a lot of problems with game pass but this has been one of the worst, this is supposed to be your prime service and can't believe it barely functions, and it even has game breaking glitches(nope, not fixable) on the main titles like halo and gears of war and it's not just me, everyone I know has had gigantic problems with the platform, I just hope I don't get an automatically generated response regarding anything but what I asked and nothing else beyond that.

I'm sorry if this is a long post but I am pretty upset about this issue and hope you understand(also I'm not trying and won't be mean to the staff/moderators, it's not their fault)

Hope this issue can be solved in the future without the need of temporary fixes, but in the meantime thanks again.

First, welcome to the Xbox community. Reading your report, I noticed that you managed to make the download resume once installing any other app from the store, this would be an alternative.

- If you haven't tried it yet, please try the procedure below, it will replace the files that have already been allocated on your HD or SSD with new files from Forza horizon 5.

(Some users have reported that this allows downloading the game)

1. Go into the Microsoft Store and search Forza Horizon 5 Standard Edition.

2. Next you want to click on Forza Horizon 5 Standard Edition and you want to click Install from the Xbox app.

3. This will take you to the Xbox app and when it takes you to the Forza game scroll down and look at the tab named "Included in this bundle" And click Forza Horizon 5.

4. This should take you to the regular Forza Horizon 5 game rather than the Standard Edition, And then you want to click install and this should download the game.

- Performing the above procedure you will probably be able to resume the download of Forza Horizon 5, the new files will replace the ones that are already allocated. If that doesn't happen you'll have to get access to the WindowsApps folder, here you'll find the game files, in my case the folder name is:

Microsoft.624F8B84B80_3.405.2.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe

- It may be different for you as they are encrypted files.

Solution 1: On Windows 10, Open a folder (like Documents) then scroll down to This PC. When you're there, right click Windows C: > Properties > Disk cleanup and select all boxes, run it. This should also clear any stuck game data on other drives. It is usually under delivery optimization files.

All of my Microsoft and Xbox games are downloaded on my external drive including the previous Horizon, which is Forza Horizon 4. I changed where new apps are stored when downloaded from the Microsoft store to my external drive but it still wont download Forza Horizon 5 to my external drive. On the Xbox app it wont show my external drive as an option to download to. I am able to download any game from the Microsoft store and Xbox app to my external drive except Forza Horizon 5.
