    Forza Horizon 5 crashing with advanced installation and management features


    Using the new advanced installation and management features, I installed Forza Horizon 5 to D:\XboxGames and then later to C:\XboxGames.

    This is the error in the event viewer after every crash, whether installed to C:\ or D:\

    This log is specifically from an install to C:\XboxGames. But the Faulting application path is the same whether installed to C:\XboxGames or D:\XboxGames.

    I have tried clean boots, permissions, running as admin, nothing works. I even reformatted D:\. I have not done a System Reset.

    It crashes at the same place every time, at the loading screen after selecting "Continue."

    I understand that you are experiencing crashing issues with Forza Horizon 5.

    I apologize for the inconvenienced this has caused you. I will do my best to help you.

    Please repair the Game. Go to Settings > Apps > Apps & features, find Forza Horizon 5, click on Advanced options, and please repair the app data.

    And then disable background applications. Kindly open Task Manager and end any unnecessary tasks that are using a lot of resources. Most importantly, disable any overlays (e.g., Nvidia GeForce Experience) that might be running.

    Next is to run as administrator. Right-click on the Forza Horizon 5 executable and select "Run as administrator".

    Then disable antivirus. Temporarily disable your antivirus software and then check if the game works smoothly.

    Try running Forza Horizon 5 as an administrator. It fixed my random crashes.
