    Forza Horizon 4 takes up invisible space


    Hi,

    I was downloading Forza Horizon 4 on Xbox App for PC, the game being 95 GB encouraged me to close my monitor and fiddle through my phone on the sofa. However, ı suspect that my PC went into sleep mode or restarted itself, ı could tell because Steam tab was open, requesting a log-in.

    The problem is when ı opened Xbox App there were no downloads of any games. Like ı never started a download for Forza Horizon 4 and ı know ı have downloaded over 40 GB of game files. My inital storage space was 135 GB of free space. Right now its 74 GB and ı neither can start to download again nor spot the game files to delete the 40 GB downloaded files.

    Edit: As ı was preparing to post this, ı tried to see what was up with Microsoft store and it downloaded an update of 8 MB size. After the update Forza continued to be downloaded from where it was. Now ı post this in case anyone has the same problem. Because its a high probability that people with internet speeds such as 1/MBps can have the same problem. Hope it helps.

    Xbox one x potential.

    Its almost impressive that Forza Horizon 4 isn't bigger in terms of space it takes up when you see how much is going on in that game!

    right click c: then properties, disk cleanup and select all boxes, run it, this will also clear any stuck game data on other drives, i have to do this sometimes.

    it is usually under delivery optimisation files.

    Ok I managed to get and install Forza Horizon 4 demo (don't have enough space for the full version) on my C:\ (Windows OS) drive. So don't know what's going on with installing Forza Horizon 4 on another drive.

    Hi there,

    I'm guessing this it the first time you're playing Forza Horizon 4 on PC,

    If you've lost your game data for Forza Horizon 4 on PC, having closed the game before allowing it to sync up, ( which it can take some time to do so ),

    To make sure you've not completely lost your save data, I would load Forza Horizon 4 on you're Xbox console and see if your save data is ok on the Xbox, if it is ok,

    I would then uninstall Forza Horizon 4 from you're PC, then reinstall it and allow it to fully sync up, which may take so time to do so , to see if it works / fixes the issue.

    I'm not sure about the Windows 10 update, as I've not had to do any update's to Windows for Forza over the years of going back and fourth playing Forza Horizon 4 between Xbox and PC and having to sync every time i do so.
