Forza Horizon 4 is always using the integrated GPU instead of dedicated GPU

Laptop Specs:

GPU 0 : Intel(R) UHD Graphics 630

GPU 1: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti

Ram : 16 GB
CPU : Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-8750H CPU @ 2.20GHz 2.21 GHz

OS : Windows 10 Pro

My Forza Horizon 4 always tends to use my integrated graphics instead of my NVIDIA graphics card, I have changed the graphics settings in windows settings. I also have changed the settings in the NVIDIA control panel yet nothing seems to work. Whenever I check task manager while running the game it always uses my INTEL UHD graphics card. I can't change my BIOS settings because it is my brothers laptop. Please suggest on what to do.

The benchmark screenshot suggests your game is already using the dedicated graphics card as the GPU model is recorded as an GTX 1050Ti.

However, the CPU results look off. It seems the game is CPU limited somehow. While the GPU looks fine.

When it comes to games, the CPU draws the screen, frame by frame and sends this information to the GPU to render, frame by frame. If the CPU is not performing as it should it won't send enough frames to the GPU to render.

Are you plugged into the mains when play Forza Horizon 4? Have you set the laptops power settings to 'Maximum performance'?

Heat could play an issue here. If the CPU is not getting enough cooling it could be thermal throttling and this could also produce the low performance.

While not an extremely powerful machine, this laptop should have more than enough performance to play this game at 1080P with Medium to High settings at a pretty much locked 60fps.

integrated graphics will usually struggle or not be supported in a lot of games these days, halo infinite does use a good chunk of gpu power and requires a dedicated gpu.

You do not want to use the igpu

It's not a gpu it's integrated APU

which is very very low powered if you want to game use the amd dedicated gpu

Intel's most powerfullest apus don't hold a candle to dedicated gpus

Larrabee was supposed to be good but it wasn't (GMA series)

Please, uninstall the current Graphic Card drivers.

Open the Device Manager window by pressing the Windows Key + X and Select "Device Manager".

Select Display Adapter > Right-click the device, and click Uninstall Device > OK

Then, restart your PC.

Then enter your graphics card manufacturer page (I will list NVIDIA and AMD if you use one of them), and download and install the latest drivers.
