Forza Horizon 4 crashes when I load into the game

I just got Forza Horizon 4 on the gamepass on pc. I've done the introduction where you race in all the different seasons to learn the new controls. After that there was a cutscene where I got to choose character and then a map appeared and where I could choose different racing challenges. I chose the first one and then I had to choose one out of three cars where I chose the Audi Tts. After that the camera pans to the 3rd person view of the car and there the game freezes for 5 seconds and then crashes. I've unistalled the game and reinstalled it but nothing happens. When I start up the game and press "continue" in the menu it puts me in the same scenario. The camera pans to 3rd person and the game crashes.

Hi Joakim,

Sorry to hear Forza Horizon keeps crashing right after the picture.
If Forza Horizon 4 is disabled from being a background app it may crash or hang when suspending and resuming. check whether the setting is set to Off: Privacy > Background apps > Forza Horizon 4 > Off. Please keep this setting On.

If this is the only game that seems to be crashing when in use next to OBS, it might be best solved by the developer of Forza Horizon 4.

In this case, is this the only game that is experiencing a crash with the OBS system or are there others that do so as well?

Please try the steps one at a time to resolve the issue.

Solution 1: Repair the Gaming Services app, Microsoft Store app, and the Xbox app

Please go to Settings > Apps > Apps Features. Select Gaming Services, then click Advanced options. Click the repair button, do the same for the Xbox app and Microsoft Store app, try launching the game again using the Xbox app and see if it works.

Solution 2: Uninstall and reinstall the Gaming Services App

Select the Search icon on the taskbar, type powershell, right-click on Windows PowerShell, and then select Run as administrator.

In Windows PowerShell, type the following command and press Enter:

get-appxpackage Microsoft.GamingServices | remove-AppxPackage -allusers

In the same window, type the following command and press Enter:

start ms-windows-store://pdp/?productid=9MWPM2CQNLHN

Install the app on that page and select Yes when you receive the User Account Control (UAC) prompt.

Restart your device and try to play the game and see if it works fine.

Solution 3:

Please open the PowerShell in admin mode and paste the following below:

Get-AppxPackage -AllUsers| Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml”}
