    Forza Horizon 4 Crashes on start,


    I have had a major issue where I get this error in the Event Viewer after seeing the splash screen and the game not launching afterwords:

    The server Microsoft.SunriseBaseGame_1.409.350.2_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe!SunriseReleaseFinal did not register with DCOM within the required timeout.

    There was also this error:

    The application-specific permission settings do not grant Local Activation permission for the COM Server application with CLSID

    {2593F8B9-4EAF-457C-B68A-50F6B8EA6B54}

    and APPID

    {15C20B67-12E7-4BB6-92BB-7AFF07997402}

    to the user DESKTOP-EM80AHS\duste SID (S-1-5-21-739036060-991241264-3849321996-1001) from address LocalHost (Using LRPC) running in the application container Unavailable SID (Unavailable). This security permission can be modified using the Component Services
    administrative tool.

    I actually had to completely fresh-install windows just to get the game to start at all the first time. It went right back to this after a reboot. This is Forza Horizon 4 on Windows 10 1909

    There are a number of things that can cause crashes in Forza Horizon 4. It could be another program running or even just needing to update your GPU driver. Here is a link to a thread with some known issues and possible solutions to try. I would make sure
    your GPU driver is up to date first.

    Hi Joakim,

    Sorry to hear Forza Horizon keeps crashing right after the picture.
    If Forza Horizon 4 is disabled from being a background app it may crash or hang when suspending and resuming. check whether the setting is set to Off: Privacy > Background apps > Forza Horizon 4 > Off. Please keep this setting On.
