Forza 5 Caution On Lap?

Right when I start a race, there is an exclamation point next to my lap time indicating a caution on my lap time. I'm sort of new to Forza, so not sure if this is supposed to happen or if it's glitching. It will also stay on even when I start a new lap
with a new lap time. It automatically shows that there is a caution on my lap time.

Anyone else experiencing this?

What does it feel like to play on Dedicated Servers?

It's perfectly normal.It's there for the leaderboards mainly.It just means you've gone off track,hit another car or slipstreamed another car & is classed as a dirty lap.

Laps are divided into 3 sectors & if you do any of those things in the last sector then your next lap will be classed as a dirty lap as well.

 

Gotcha. But what about at the very beginning of the race then? We just launch at the beginning of the race and then I have a caution.

 

It's because you are so close to the other cars at the start of the race,it almost always gives you a dirty lap at the start.

 

Best way to put in clean laps is in rivals mode as there are no other cars there so the only thing to worry about is going off track.
