Fortnite on xbox keeps changing audio settings - I cannot be heard by my friends

Please check Fortnite Audio Settings. Open Fortnite and go to Settings > Audio.

Make srue all volume settings (Master Volume, Music, Sound Effects, etc.) are turned up. Verify that the correct audio output device is selected.

And then disable sound visualization. In Fortnite's audio settings, disable the "Sound Visualization" option, as it can sometimes interfere with audio output.

Next is to update Xbox firmware. Kindly make sure that your Xbox Series S is running the latest system update. Go to Settings > System > Updates to check for updates.

Then check audio output settings. On your Xbox, go to Settings > General > Volume & Audio Output.Please ensure that the correct audio format is selected for your headset or speakers.

If the issue persist after performing the troubleshooting steps, kindly uninstall and reinstall Fortnite to delete the corrupted files from the game.

I've recently started streaming on twitch with some friends of mine mostly on fortnite for fun.

Most of them are PlayStation players but some aren't.

They twitch stream and everyone in the party is heard. However, whenever I stream, only my voice is heard.

I've check the settings, they all have allowed their audio to be streamed (hence everyone coming out of theirs) and same for me.

We only use party chat rather than game chat.

I've tried tv output, headset output and both.

I've tried disabling and renabling all the settings.

I've googled everything and I keep getting that xbox doesn't like to twitch stream cross platform but it won't even stream another xbox player.

Any other suggestions?

I really can't tell what specific settings that may conflict but you need to make sure both settings below are met.

First, please make sure that your Xbox privacy settings allow you to communicate with friends only. You can do this by going to Settings > Account > Privacy & online safety > Xbox Live privacy > View details and customize > Communication & multiplayer.

Then, please check that your Fortnite voice chat settings are also set to friends only. You can do this by going to Settings > Audio > Voice Chat > Friends Only. If both settings are correct, but you still cannot hear your friends, please try restarting your game and your console.

1 Check Fortnite's audio settings.

Open Fortnite and go to Settings.

If you see multiple options, try the one that doesn't say "Standard Output".

2. Restart the game and the launcher.

Close Fortnite and the Epic Games Launcher completely.

Restart the launcher and Fortnite.

3. Restart your router.
