Fortnite: Not able to play since the new update

Hi,

I would appreciate any help on this matter....My son is unable to load Fortnite since the new update went live. His friends in our area are able to pay, why can't my son?

If he deletes Fortnite and reinstalls will he lose his status, achievements and purchases?

Issues

Im having the same problem, but only when I try to open fortnite. Its actually pissing me off koz I havent really got to play since the new update. And everytime they do an update, my xbox starts messing up

Hi have you tried following the steps here first Xbox One Game Won’t Start | Xbox One Game Freeze

If it turns out that you have to delete and re install fortnite, you wont lose achievements as they are saved on you Xbox live account when unlocked, your Xbox should of also automatically backed up your save and you in game purchases are tied to you epic
account you log into the game with so they should still be there too.

Hey, thanks for getting back to me.

Fortnite is a game where data is stored in the internet, not local files. I am not sure how I would be able to revert to data though, since Fortnite can't be reverted to previous updates.

It depends, because Epic Games doesn't allow you to play the same Fortnite account at the same time. It will remove the other Fortnite Game session from Gameplay. If you're trying to play Fortnite with your own account, you'd need to unlink the Xbox account from, in your current situation, your son, and then you'd need to make a new Xbox Account for your Son, and link the new Xbox Account to his Epic Games Account. You will, however not be able to see your son's Fortnite Game progress, since you've transferred it to a new Xbox account. I'd recommend you to follow up with Xbox Support and Epic Games.
