    Fortnite lag spikes and input lag


    I play fortnite competitive and been having problems with inputlag and lag spikes

    My pc and xbox are both experiencing the same problems when I'm in game, I don't play any other games competitive enough to notice if it's happening to them as well but my main concern is fortnite

    My pc specs:

    Intel Core i9-13900k Processor

    ASUS TUF Z790 motherboard

    Kingston Fury Renegade 32 gb (2x16gb)

    Samsung 990 pro 2TD SSD

    NVIDIA RTX 4070

    Using windows 10 pro

    Monitor Rouge Swift 360hz

    Im not sure what could possibly be that causing input lag and lag spikes. It will feel so smooth one moment and then just turn horrible out of nowhere causing me to lose games, currentwifi provider is att with 1000mbs fiber, pc is connected with ethernet cord, I had 300 with the same feeling and upgraded it to the 100 but nothing changed, called them and had technicians come over and they tell me everything is fine, test show speeds are good but its the quality that its not consistent. Even got a eero pro 6 for buffer bloat as recommended by an optimizer, the numbers on test from waveform get better but still feels the same, I've changed my setting for the game for better Performance changed controllers used Playstation and Xbox and nothing is working

    Even changed some settings in bios

    I've tried exitLag and my ping went down but still same stutters and lag spikes.

    I've tired nordVPN same thing

    There isn't a thing I haven't tried when it comes to changing settings within a game,I havent tried but also have the same issue on Xbox so I'm not sure what to do anymore, or if this is even a possible Emi issue

    I've even bought a new Xbox and this current pc is the second one I bought this year first one from cuber power and this current one from power gpu, and both Xbox and both pc had the same issue, idk if having my pc optimized will do anything but I've put around 8k into trying to get a decent set up and still it's just horrible and unplayable at times even if I just wanna casually play with friends

    Thank you for posting to the Microsoft Community.

    We understand that you need help with your Fortnite game on your Xbox and PC that is having trouble with the lagging.

    For this, we really need to further isolate the issue to be able to narrow down the root cause.

    First, please try to check your other games that you have on your Xbox and PC, if it's doing the same thing or not? Because if it's happening only a specific game it means that there might be an on going issue in game like server maintenance.

    Then on your Xbox if the Xbox console is connected through your WiFi, you may try to connect the Xbox console through wired by using an Ethernet cable.

    Hello Fatal,

    Sorry for the issue with lag. There are games that will have lag. Especially multiplayer games like Fortnite. Personally from time to time I also experience lag spikes on the same game. Remember also that these games are not Xbox servers. Fortnite is Epic
    games servers. Try rebooting all Network hardware. With the download and upload speeds you got on the speed test you are running at the bare minimum. Have you tried going wired? Looking at

    this guide     you can see the minimum speeds.

    Exactly...I'd rule out the game itself before blaming the hardware. Could be the game is switching servers and putting the OP in one on the other side of the world for example
