Fortnite has been updating for several hours now. Controller disconnects periodically....

This will depend on your network provider as well, Maria. Please perform an extended powercycle and reset the network hardware by following the steps below:

"1. Unplug the power cable from the back of the router, modem, or gateway for 5 minutes. If you have a router and a modem, unplug the power cable from both devices.

2. Press and hold the Xbox button on your console for 10 seconds or until it turns off then wait for 2 minutes before turning it on again.

3. After 5 minutes, plug the modem or gateway in first, and wait for all the lights to return to their normal state.

4. If you are using a router, plug in the router and wait for all the lights to return to their normal state."

Update: ive now tried unistall/installing fortnite, disconnecting/ reconnecting my controllers, running the game through steam, and turning the controller on before loading the game, nothing has worked. This is crazy annoying

If your problem started to occur after the September update, welcome to the team! My control is disconnecting all the time! Has several reports of problems in control after this update!

The problem is happening when I first start the xbox one x after it has been off overnight or during the day . I will play for a few hours, properly shut unit off and when I come back several hours later and turn it on from either the controller or the
console, it comes on briefly and then shuts back off. when I press the button again, it starts and comes on as if the power had been disconnected (cold boot screen comes up if that is what it is called). It is not an overheat issue. My controller is plugged
into the unit and has been also disconnecting. Not sure if either are related.

Not letting me open nba 2k19 or fortnite. Issue has been taking place for over an hour now
