Fortnite game on Gaming PC

I keep getting this error on my son’s new gaming pc that he just got for Christmas. The error is “ we can't open this ms-gamingoverlay link. your device needs a new app to open this link”. It pops up every time we open Fortnite. It lets him see Fortnite but when he tries to play a game it kicks him out. I’ve tried updating, resetting the game, and going into Settings to Gaming > Game bar and turning off the record stuff. I’m at a loss. Please help!!

anything for fortnite in the windows store is for the xbox console version only, to sync it with epic would need to log into an xbox and open fortnite.

anything you want to purchase for fortnite on pc has to be through the epic store or in game as microsoft has nothing to do with fortnite on pc.

I tell you that this type of incident can be caused by corruption in the system records or lack of updating in it. To do this, I recommend carrying out the following correction processes:

-Apply new features from Windows Update, know this step by entering:

-Download and run the Windows 10 Apps Troubleshooter. To start, click here: http://aka.ms/diag_apps10

-Reset the Microsoft Store settings, deleting its cache. To do this, press the Windows + R keys, in the Run box type Wsreset.exe and click OK. Wait for the store to start and restart your computer.

Unfortunately, this is not possible as pc Fortnite only exists in epic games.

This is where Microsoft need to stop selling Xbox console goods on the pc windows store, it causes confusion for a lot of people.

Fortnite has nothing to do with Microsoft on PC and all purchases for Fortnite on PC are through the ingame section or Epic games.

Please note that Fortnite packs or items purchased through the Microsoft website are for the Xbox console version of the game, not for PC. In this case, in order for the package to appear in Fortnite on your PC, you need to log in with your account on an Xbox console and open the game. This way, the content of the package will synchronize with your game on other platforms, including PC (provided that your Xbox and Epic Games accounts are linked). Please be aware that this policy is directly imposed by Fortnite and not by Xbox; it is a decision made by the Fortnite team.
