Fortnite forgets game settings every launch on Xbox Series X sense last patch

The Initial Issue:


The initial issue I noticed on Xbox Series X after the last patch where Epic took the servers down to release the latest patch. The issue was the game would lag, not FPS lag nor network lag but just magic lag/stuttering. I enabled the network meter in game and FPS meter than they were constant 60FPS, no dips, and no dips or ping spikers, etc.

Sense a power cycle nor network change didn't fix the issue, I fully reinstalled Fortnite. After the reinstall, the game was no longer stuttering, however that caused more issues on my Xbox Series X's install

On Xbox Series X:


After a full reinstall of the game, the lag issue is gone. Good! However, that caused a new issue where every time the game is launched it asks me to adject my safe-area and then it every time makes me sit through the first-launch season launch trailer and battle-pass video, and the lobby background is gone (it flashes for .5 of a second when I load into STW and go back to BR, then fades back to blue quickly). Another renstalls and same issue. I've messed with my settings. It seems when the game is closed, it just forgets all my settings and I have to change them.

I've also noticed another issue on all devices sense last patch

Across-platform issue:


Along with this their is a new settings option in settings > game > (scroll down) > "color configuration". That button boots the user back to the game lobby, instead of doing anything at all. Confirmed that issue on multiple devices. (PC, SXS, One S, Xcloud)



Troubleshooting:


I contacted Epic Games Support and after extensive troubleshooting on all my devices they referred me to Xbox Support, who referred me to posting on the Xbox Insiders subreddit (steps I am on right now).

I did troubleshoot with Epic

Epic Games Support:

• Epic tried resetting my account on their end
  • Had me power cycle console
  • Had me relaunch the game
  • No luck
• Epic investigated my account on their end
• They had me reinstall on both my Xboxes and PC
• Epic has me power cycle all devices
• Epic had me reinstall on a different network and play on a different network
  • Used a friend's internet for that
  • Yes, it was a pain to do
• Epic had me verify the game's files on PC
• Epic has me update my PC's Nvidia driver
  • No updates was found
  • I tried reinstalling my PC driver from GeForce Now anyways
• epic has me close everything on my pc
• Epic had me look at their @ FortniteStatus twitter account
• Epic had me look at their trello page
• Epic had me try on Xcloud
• Epic said the issue must be on Xbox's end

Xbox support:

• Xbox told me that I ran threw all the troubleshooting steps with Epic
• Xbox told me to post on the Xbox Insiders subreddit to report the issue to "Create Pressure" about my issue on my Xbox Series X

Some other important things to note about the issue:

• I did find others having the same issue sense last patch. You can find a somewhat decent amount of reports of the issue on this twitter thread.
• I have tried the in-game reporter (does not help much sense it locks the screen not allowing you to change what it contains if you need to report a issue with a UI)
• Epic after troubleshooting referred me to Xbox support
• Xbox support just referred me to posting on this subreddit to "create pressure"
• I could care less about the cross-platform menu option thing, I just am getting sick of having to do the safe area every launch, and sit through the season trailer launch
