Fortnite Child Account

I want to allow my 10 yr old to play Fortnite on his Xbox One. He's been playing supervised on my PC for months and I'm happy he can be allowed to play on Xbox too. I've bought and applied a preppaid code for a 12 month Xbox Live subscription to his Xbox
login.

When he tries to start Fortnite he gets the error "This account for Xbox Live does not allow user generated content. Please try again with a different account".

I've checked his settings and they seem fine.

I can't use a different account beause the Xbox Live subscription is applied to his account.

Please advise. It seems ridiculous that as a parent, I can't decide what he can and cannot do online.

Family Account and Fortnite

My nephew plays Fortnite using my account. If I create a child account for him, can he still play on his Fortnite account so we're not knocking each other offline? What would I have to do?

crossplay on child account

is there any way to allow fortnite crossplay on a child account? I Can do it from my adult account but my son can’t play with his friends on other platforms because he’s got a child account. I don’t want him to use my account. Thanks

Sign into your account>settings>manage family>pick childs account>privacy and sharing. The user generated content setting has to be set to ‘everybody’ instead of friends or blocked. The thing I don’t like is this applies to my sons entire account. I wish
it was game specific rather than universal.

This will be something that you should be able to resolve in the "Privacy and Sharing" section of settings on your son's account but be warned, it will effect the entire account, so it may be something that you want to toggle on and off only when he is playing
Fortnite.

Because of this issue with cross platform playing on Fortnite in a child’s account, is there a workaround?

Can we use the adult account and sign into Fortnite using the childs details so we can play with the saved game play up to now? That way we can play cross platform on adult’s account?

I'm afraid progression can't be transferred from and to other accounts, but something that might work is to unlink the fortnite account from your Xbox Live Account and connect it to one of the Child accounts, that should (if I understand correctly)
work and result in one of the child accounts have some of the progress. Which should be possible via the fortnite website:
https://www.epicgames.com/fortnite/

Just to be sure, this is my assumption and I couldn't find any official support page at this moment regarding this topic.

So be sure to investigate first before attempting this process
