[FORTNITE] Allow

On our xBox we have enabled Microsoft Family, mostly to control the screen time our kids can have to play on the xBox.

My son is very addicted to Fortnite and he wasn't been able to crossplay with the PS4 kids from his school. A week ago we heard that crossplay should now be available so he was very happy! But unfortunately he isn't able to join because a setting "Allow
Cross Platform Parties" is missing in his Fortnite settings. See below screenshots with thesettings for adult and for child.

After some investigation on the internet it seems that Microsoft Family is the issue. Because he has a child account he can't join cross platform parties. This is just stupid, why is this? As his dad I allow him to play this game with his PS4 friends.

What are my options? Will removing him from our Family help solve the situation? Or does xBox still remember that he is a kid?

I'm very annoyed by this, this should be configurable!

Yes, Microsoft does allow Microsoft Computers to play Fortnite Battle Royale for free, so why not the Xbox?

 

Hi! Did you have a look at the
family settings if there's an option regarding this? If not, removing your sons profile as a child account is probably the only thing you can do, although I'm not 100% sure if this will work either.

Sorry for the inconvenience. Gaming on a computer or PC has different advantages than a gaming console and all child
accounts have been set up with maximum security to protect our younger customers while they game online.



All Microsoft accounts that are adult accounts should be eligible for cross play. The only accounts that have restrictions
are the Microsoft child accounts. This is not a bug, Microsoft intentionally set up this barrier for many reasons and plan on releasing a solution to change that option soon. We do not have an estimated time frame on this issue at the moment. As soon as we
find out more information; we will update everyone on the forums about this
issue. Keep an eye out for our response as we are diligently working on allowing parent accounts to manage cross platform play in the parental settings.

on making the change to the parental settings, but it is taking them some time to work out the kinks. They want to make sure there are no issues once they roll out the changes. The rough estimate to expect this change is around November this year. Fingers
