Forgot to take out disk in repair

To answer your question, if you logged in the last time on Xbox Live, all your progress is saved in the cloud. After they give you the console, you can download the games and access the progress stored in the cloud, to play where you left off.

Give everything a good ol' Vacuum up and clean out the disk drive. You won't have a warranty, so I'd take it to a Private Repair Shop.

I forgot this was coming out on disk... cool, anyway I don't own the disk obviously but im thinking its b/c the game is so small there's nothing to install, is the disk still spinning?

this is simple: take your xbox for repair but I think you will have to trace the disk drive tray

Sounds like the disk reader/laser is on the way out,may require a repair
