Hi,

In Windows 10 Xbox app, is it possible to make password input mandatory on every log in ?

Currently when I log out to change the account, all accounts are saved and none require password to log in again. I would want this to be like on Windows Store where each time you log out, you have to write the password again to be back. Is it possible on
Xbox app ?

How to password protect your Xbox LIVE profile

Xbox LIVE password overview

It is possible to download your Xbox LIVE profile to several different consoles. You may need to do this if you have more than one Xbox 360 console, or you want to play games at a friend's house. In such a situation, you may want to password protect your Xbox LIVE account so that no one else can sign in using your profile.

Set the console to remember your password

Once you have downloaded your Xbox LIVE profile to a console, you will be asked if you want the console to remember your password. The Remember Password option is usually off by default. This means that you will be asked for your Microsoft account password every time you sign into Xbox LIVE.

If you don't want to be asked for your Microsoft account password every time you sign into Xbox LIVE, select the Remember Password option.

Change the password protection on your profile

You are required to set the Remember Password option after you download your Xbox LIVE profile. However, you can change the password protection on your Xbox LIVE profile any time.

If you don't need a password to sign in:

Sign into your Xbox LIVE profile. After you have entered your Microsoft account password, select the Remember Password option.

If you choose the Remember Password option, you will not be asked for your Microsoft account password the next time you sign into your Xbox LIVE profile.

If you need a password to sign in:

You can restrict access to your Xbox LIVE profile on any console using your Microsoft account password.

Steps to follow

1) Sign in using your Xbox LIVE gamertag.

2) Under Settings, select Account and then Account Security

3) Choose the option for Password at Sign In.

4) Select Require Password Here

You will be asked for your Microsoft account password the next time you sign into your Xbox LIVE profile.

How to password protect your Xbox LIVE profile remotely

If you downloaded your Xbox LIVE profile to another console and it is not password protected, or someone has compromised your password, you can change the password from a remote location so that no one else can access your profile.

Change your Microsoft account

1) Sign into accounts.live.com using your Microsoft account.

2) Go to Account Information and, next to Password, click Change.

You can also use your console to change your Microsoft account password.

Note: If the Xbox LIVE profile you downloaded does not require a password to sign in (You selected the Remember Password option), you will not be able to restrict someone from signing into your Xbox profile even if you change your Microsoft account password.

You can remove your Microsoft account password so that other people cannot access your Xbox profile on other consoles. This will ensure that a password is required before signing into your Xbox profile.

Remotely set a profile password from a computer:

1) Sign into your Xbox LIVE account.

2) Under Settings, select Account, and then Account Security

3) Choose the option for Password at Sign In.

4) Select On All Other Consoles.

Once you have done this, a password will be required to sign into your Xbox LIVE profile on all other consoles.

After using the Xbox app, it is important that you sign out your account to make sure that your account is secure or if you're going to sign in with another Xbox account. Currently, the Xbox app doesn't have an option to stop the accounts to automatically
sign in. As a workaround, you can remove the accounts from your computer so that it will ask for your credentials every time you use the Xbox app or other apps that require your Xbox account. To do that, you will go to Settings > Accounts > Email & app accounts.
From there, you can select the account that you want to remove.

If you want to request for an option to stop the Xbox app to automatically sign in, I would recommend that you share it to our Xbox team by using the

Feedback Hub on Windows 10. The Feedback Hub app lets you tell Microsoft about problems you run into while using the Windows 10 and send suggestions to help us improve your Windows experience.

To add a new feedback, you may follow the steps below:

Select Add new feedback next to the search bar.

Tell us whether you’re sending a problem or suggestion.

In the Summarize your issue box, provide a concise but clear title for your problem or suggestion.

You can however change the password and force other devices to sign in which requires the new password

If my previous settings on her console did not require any pass codes to sign in and today I changed my password for my Microsoft account will that force her to have my new password to get back on the account or will it still auto sign in after I changed the password from a laptop?

Depends one if you use it on multiple websites email and password combos and one of them get phished and you are listed as a known login and password even google will force you to change

This is why you don't have the same email and password on different sites.

Also if you clicked on change every 72 days or require password or someone who you gameshare with triws to put in your password too many times wrong can trigger a fraud lock requiring a change

Or worse you tried checking your email with an old password too many times and it locks you out

well if you still have access to your Microsoft account you can change the password and then require the profile to have to redownload
