Forced to Wait for Game Updates

Can Xbox please change the forced sit-through of game updates? As someone who owns both Xbox One and PS4, I love both consoles; however, one of my favorite features of the PS4 is not being forced to wait for an update in order to start a game. I honestly
hate whenever I go to start a game I haven't played in a while or just bought that I have to wait for a large update to be downloaded, which can take forever based on your internet speed. I should be allowed to play a game while the update is downloaded in
the background and given the option to update as soon as it is finished or after I have stopped playing the game. Updates can take hours to download based on the users internet speed, which could turn a day of what you hoped to be non-stop gaming into a day
of waiting around while a update is downloaded. No bigger buzzkill than getting a game you've been feverishly waiting for and popping it in and letting it install, just to be halted from playing so you can wait another 5 hours for it to download a release
update. Please Microsoft, fix this and stop making us wait.

Forced to reset to factory settings

So thanks to the absolute joke of an update that was the NXOE.. my console was bricked.

Offline updates using OSUDT1 and OSUDT2 didn't work so I was forced to restore to factory settings.

Thanks for the hassle Microsoft. Can't wait to re-install my games and updates.

Anyone else had to do this after the NXOE update?

Forced update for what? Game or OS?

 

Set your console to instant on mode and and make sure your settings are set to keep everything updated. I've had a One since day 1 and can only remember maybe 1 or 2 updates I've had to wait on.
