Forced Gamertag, Why?

Ok so today my Gamertag was force change by Xbox live enforcement due to it being inappropriate. My gamertag is the name of a heavy metal band, my gamertag is
[Mod removed--personal information] or was. How is this inappropriate its a band name. I would really like my gamertag back, this is ridiculously ive had that gamertag for at least 5 months and now they decide to force change it? If that is
the case then why is it that i can type in the same gamertag with a different number at the end and it get approved, like really?!?!

With all due respects I think that's the sort of name which devout members of the Catholic branch of Christianity might find highly offensive which is probably why it's been changed.

Hello Austin,

If a gamer tag is found offensive by someone and they report it, the Enforcement team will review the name and decide. In this case as mentioned above there are many people that could find that gamer tag offensive. Always be mindful of the

code of conduct when creating gamer tags. Something you may find ok, someone else might find offensive.

For information about why it was changed and to see about submitting a case review, you would need to go to http://enforcement.xbox.com

Just because you can create a similar name with a different number doesn't mean it's allowed.

You can try the case review as suggested to see if you can convince the Enforcement team to get your old gamer tag back. Someone must have reported it as being inappropriate (eg anti-clergy) as not everyone will know you meant it as a band name reference
(I didn't). If you aren't in the band then that may also be grounds for you not having/using that gamertag.
