  1. Forced Gamertag Change Without Response As To What the Violation Was

    To Whom It May Concern,

I changed my gamertag from [Mod Removed] about 2 months ago. About 10 days ago I get a notification that my Gamertag has been changed via the Enforcement Team while I'm logged onto Xbox Live. I attempt to contact the Enforcement Team via their website
and communication portal in which you are given 500 characters to comment with. I did so, asked exactly what part of my Gamertag was offensive, and never got a response. I also contacted a member of Xbox support named John, and he was incredibly unhelpful.
He avoided my questions at all costs after having me on hold for eight minutes. Pretty much the only recommendation he had for me was pay $10 and get a new Gamertag. John was more concerned with the fact that, apparently, I had a second email account linked
to my Gamertag that he tried to fix, yet didn't. Thirty eight minutes later and no resolution, not even an explanation as to why my Gamertag was changed or WHO I could actually contact for some answers.

So, a week later I sucked it up and paid $9.99 + tax to change it again. While entering the new Gamertag, Pooty Whacker, I received an error message that said that that particular name was unavailable but variations of Pooty Whacker followed by numbers
was available. So, naturally, enter the tag Pooty Whacker with some subsequent numbers with success. Not two days later do I log in only to find that my Gamertag has been changed AGAIN, this time without any kind of warning. No email, no notification on
    my dashboard, nothing.

I attempt to contact Xbox Support again, this time with a member named Sheldon and he tells me that they can't do anything on their end, the only thing he can do is say that I have violated some terms of service as according to the Enforcement team, and
that I should attempt to contact them via their portal (again) and also try contacting them via the forums (thus my long-winded rant here).

The thing that really bothers me here is the lack of transparency and the lack of explanation from ANYONE at Xbox as to why someone found my Gamertag offensive. I change my Gamertag to something similar, but different, only to find that it still offends
someone out there in cyberverse. It would have been nice to know beforehand, had anyone at Xbox Support or the Enforcement Team actually responded to my inquiry. This time, I would respectfully ask that I receive a refund for my Gamertag change and I would
like to speak with someone so the folks at Xbox or the Enforcement Team can tell me what is acceptable in their universe before I change to a PlayStation platform.

To whomever at Xbox and the Enforcement Team reads this, thank you for taking the time to read this and I hope to hear from someone soon.

    Sincerely,

    A concerned 13 year customer

    :)

i would guess this was a forced Name Change because your old gamertag was reported as in Violation to the Terms of use

    My Gamertag was deleted

That gamertag was in violation. It was issued a Forced Name Change to what you have now. If you want a new name, it's $10.

Forced Gamertag Change Without Response As To What the Violation Was

The enforcement team does not use the forums. They can only be contacted via the case review process on enforcement.xbox.com. You will find there was a part of your GT that violated the Code of Conduct and that is likely why the forced change occurred. You
will also find that the same rules apply on PS.

    Gamertag Forcefully Changed.

Forced gamertag changes are not given because of what happens in the game. Gamertag changes are given because the gamertag violates the code of conduct. The enforcement team does not issue changes without investigating your account first. You can submit
a case review at http://enforcement.xbox.com but otherwise you will either need to keep this gamertag or pay to change it to something else.

    GAMERTAG CHANGE

The Xbox Policy Enforcement Team only issues forced Gamertag changes to Gamertags that violate the ToU and Code of Conduct. When a Forced Gamertag Change is issued, your Gamertag is converted to a randomly generated tag. I'd recommend just gathering up
the $9.99 and paying for a change, since your Gamertag does not seem to be in violation of the rules, and I do not foresee a Forced Gamertag Change being issued for it.

    gamertag

If your gamertag violates the code of conduct, you will get a forced change and have to pay to change it.

It makes no difference what you intend the tag to mean, if it has an alternative that violates the coc, you will get a forced change.

If you continue to get forced changes you will find yourself with a permanent account ban.

You will not get a free change, learn from it and choose a sensible tag.
