Force enable Game DVR

I was directed from Microsoft Community, and I hope you can help. Here is what I asked on Microsoft Community.

I would like to enable Game DVR, but it is not allowing me to. Is there a way to force enable Game DVR through Registry Editor, a Config File, or similar, so I can test out this feature.

My computer can handle screen capture, with multiple audio sources, at 120fps, in full 1080p glory. The reason I want to test out this feature is the simplicity, do not have to install anything, and is self-maintained through windows update. I really don't
want to try and dig through Registry Editor, because it has significantly grown, and makes no sense like it has in the past.

Can anyone help me out?

Xbox One DVR will not record

You can only record gameplay, ie when playing a game.

Also you don't need to start a recording through Game DVR, you only need to pick End Clip & select 5 minutes.

Also make sure you have Game DVR enabled in Setting > preferences > enable the DVR function.

I had a similar problem, to fix I had to re-enable the auto capture game dvr in the preferences, did you disable that by any chance?

If you are using an Nvidia card I recommend using ShadowPlay to record your stuff it works much better IME. I just tried it in Minecraft and didn't even record correctly the video only the audio. Never had a problem recording with Shadowplay Also if you
have one of the newer 900 cards you can even record up to 4K instead of just 1080p max which GameDVR seems limited to. Not sure what you use for an AMD card but sure they have something similar.

 

AMD have Raptr, which works in the same way as Shadowplay but causes a few stability issues with drivers etc. But it gets the job done.
