For some reason I am unable to change my parental controls?

I have been trying to play minecraft crossplay on windows 10 edition for a while and I have finally set up the game. But I can't join his world as my privacy settings prevent me from doing this. When I go onto the website, it says I have to use a parent's
account to change my privacy settings but my parents do not have a microsoft account. What do I need to do to fix this?

Apparently, your account is set up as a child's account and you will need your parents to log in and make changes to your settings.

I would like to change my parental control settings because I am unable to access 'Find New Tunes' on Forza Horizon 4. My restricted content is 'Unrestricted' but I cannot access all the features on Forza.

you wont be able to change the parental controls on your account. only the person who has the parent account can make those changes to the settings

we had a parental account tho for some reason we have no idea why we lost the control to it and we are unable to get into the account it used to be deceivedbilly2 but it no longer shows that its the parental account so we cant change it and just a few
days ago this problem was not happening it was all working perfectly just one day when i tried to log into the website itd say that my settings had changed

This exact situation happened to me 4 days ago right after the last update. To be quite honest, I tried every simple troubleshooting technique also.

First might I suggest doing a hard reset on your console.

Next, update your controller.

(I actually changed controllers to fix my problem)

Also might I ask you, are parental controls enabled on your account?

There are a few communication settings in the parental controls you may want to check. I am 38 years old, and for some reason my parental controls seem to get reset every few weeks.

If none of this works, might I suggest trying a different controller. None of the above things worked for me, only changing the controller. I hope this helps.

It says I must change my settings to allow the purchase, but my email is the main email for my account, I have tried to get my parents to sign on with there email and it won't let them, I tried to change my setting with that link but it says a parent needs
to do it but they are unable to, i bought a prepaid card to put on the Xbox to then buy something but I am unable to
